Student Employment

The LGBTQ+SC hires a team of student workers to help influence and carry out the work of the Center each year. Please see below for a list of our current undergraduate and graduate student worker positions.

All LGBTQ+SC student worker positions are currently filled. Please check back towards the end of spring semester for applications for 2021-2022 positions. If you are interested in volunteering for the LGBTQ+SC, please check out of Lavender Lounger volunteer program.

Undergraduate Positions

Community Coordinator

  • Lead weekly affinity spaces 
  • Facilitate educational workshops & community engagement events
  • Staff new student orientations
  • Collaborate with student orgs & campus partnerson intersectional programming 
  • Assess affinity spaces, workshops, & intersectional programs 

Operations Assistant

  • Check LGBTRC email – respond to inquiries or forward messages where appropriate 
  • Create Zoom links for events & programs 
  • Create event sign in sheets from event sign in form 
  • Schedule student workers & volunteers & maintain LGBTQ+SC calendar 
  • Send biweekly timesheet reminders to student workers
  • Archive LGBTQ+SC materials 

Digital Outreach & Social Media

  • Manage LGBTQ+SC social media accounts 
  • Market LGBTQ+SC events, programs, & trainings 
  • Assemble & send out weekly newsletter 
  • Update & maintain website  
  • Outreach to QuASA/Rainbow Floor/student orgs/campus partners to advertise on their social media accounts/listservs, etc 
  • Track social media analytics & digital engagement 

Graphic Design

  • Create flyers for events and programs 
  • Develop LGBTQ+SC branding and marketing materials 
  • Update resource guides 

Graduate Positions

Graduate Assistant

  • Coordinate Peer Mentoring Program 
  • Organize and implement graduate student programming 
  • Help Center Supervisor coordinate Lavender Celebration
  • Plan and lead large events 
  • Facilitate weekly affinity space 
  • Facilitate educational trainings 
  • Conduct assessment, analyze data, and create assessment reports
