The LGBTRC is Now the LGBTQ+SC!

The Center celebrated National Coming Out Day yesterday by officially announcing its new name: the USC LGBTQ+ Student Center. The name change stems directly from student input shared on our name change survey over the summer. Not only was LGBTQ+ Student Center the favorite amongst survey participants as a whole, but it also led amongst trans/nonbinary/agender respondents, bi/pan/fluid respondents, queer respondents, and BIPOC respondents. We are happy to celebrate the Center’s 15th anniversary in 2020 by marking this new chapter in our history with a name more reflective of the student community we serve.

Join our celebration this week by participating in our “I am LGBTQ+SC” campaign on Instagram. Search “usc lgbtq” on giphy to add one of our many I am LGBTQ+SC stickers to your posts and stories and don’t forget to tag @usclgbtqplus.

Happy National Coming Out Day yesterday, Happy National Coming Out Week, Happy Indigenous People’s Day today, Happy Latinx Heritage Month, Happy Spirit Day this Thursday, and Happy LGBTQ+ History Month!

In community,
The LGBTQ+ Student Center
